Busselton, is the State's premier seaside resort town. Sheltered from most prevailing winds by its northerly position and boasting 30 kilometres of white beaches, it is remarkable for the variety it offers. Busselton makes an excellent base from which to explore the surrounding area, in particular, the Margaret River Wine Region, which extends westward from Busselton in the north to Augusta in the south. Over the past 20 years the region's wine industry has blossomed, with the establishment of numerous vineyards which produce award-winning, premium table wines. These enterprises now supplement the traditional dairying, cattle, sheep and crop farming industries.
